GET TO KNOW JLUKE
Jonluke Lovell, known professionally as JLUKE, is a country rapper hailing from Danville, Virginia, where he was raised on a rural farm with his mother, grandmother, grandfather, and sister. During his time at Tunstall High School, Lovell's primary focus was on athletics and part-time employment as a delivery driver for Domino's Pizza. He subsequently pursued higher education in computer programming and business management at Danville Community College before transitioning to a role at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
In May 2011, JLUKE began working at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Danville, Virginia, and used his earnings to support his musical career and start his own record label TKB Entertainment. His initial success emerged as a member of THE KUNTRY BOYZ in 2014, a musical group he co-founded with childhood friend Vez Farmer, aka Vez. The group performed extensively along the East Coast, sharing the stage with notable artists such as Rascal Flatts, Eric Church, Big & Rich, Ralo, Mario, Upchurch, The Lacs, Plies, Lil Boosie, Lil Wyte, & Many Other Acts.
In May 2017, upon recovering from shoulder surgery, JLUKE decided to part ways with the group and launch a solo music career. He quickly released his debut single, 'Lawless,' in June 2017, which achieved rapid success. JLUKE recognizes the invaluable contribution of Jahmon Pauling, also known as Smileyface, a Billboard Charting music artist, producer, and sound engineer who refined the track before its public release.
JLUKE released his debut EP, “JLUKE,” on August 15, 2017, and takes pride in having written, performed, and recorded all songs himself, with the exception of mixing and mastering. JLUKE is the sole author of all his verses and hooks, showcasing his dual talents as a songwriter and performer.
Between 2017 and mid 2018, JLUKE was consistently engaged, dedicating 48 to 54 hours weekly to his role at Goodyear, finishing his workweek at 7am on Fridays to depart for tours, and returning home to commence work again by 11pm on Sundays.
JLUKE released his second EP, 'I Stand Alone,' on June 27, 2018, with 'I'm Back' serving as the lead single. However, by late 2018, JLUKE was struggling with intense back pain, which impeded his ability to walk and work, culminating in the need for emergency surgery to repair his L5 S1 disc.
After a lengthy recovery, JLUKE was hit with tragedy again when the love of his life, Kaitlyn Patricia Hoton, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2019, at the age of 27.
Following the encouragement of his loved ones, JLUKE & Kaitlyn's family, and a lasting message from Kaitlyn to 'never give up on your dream', JLUKE made a triumphant comeback with his 3rd EP, 'Lower Axton Vol. 1', released on July 27, 2019, featuring lead singles 'Live My Dream', a dedication to Kaitlyn, and 'Roll A Pound', featuring Smileyface, which achieved over 1 million streams on Spotify alone.
JLUKE once again ascended to the top of the music scene and maintained his role at Goodyear until late 2019, at which point his back condition relapsed, requiring an immediate second operation to remove his L5 S1 disc and enable him to walk again.
Upon completing an extended recovery from his second back surgery, JLUKE debuted his fourth EP, 'King Of Da STIXS', on August 20, 2020. This EP highlights five of JLUKE's most streamed songs: 'Jack Em Up' (feat. Young Dro), 'WIN' (feat. Chris C.), 'Nothing To Do' (feat. Smileyface), 'Daniel Boone', and 'FLEX'. The COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of JLUKE's tour, initially planned for the last months of 2020 and the beginning of 2021.
From 2021 to 2022, JLUKE, an independent artist relying solely on personal funds, experienced significant setbacks, including a difficult recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. His release from Goodyear, stemming from medical procedures and health issues rendering him unable to work, prompted him to pursue disability benefits.
On April 7, 2021, JLUKE introduced his single 'I'm Important,' and shortly thereafter, released the hit single 'RIDIN'' on July 7, 2021. JLUKE further demonstrated his artistic range with the country R&B single 'I Need Ya' (feat. Chris C.) on July 4, 2022, and rounded out the year with his fifth EP, 'The Traveling Stoner Vol. 1,' on December 31, 2022.
JLUKE took off 2023 from music to undergo an extensive left shoulder reconstruction surgery in, repairing a torn tricep, bicep, and rotator cuff.
JLUKE skillfully integrates his country roots and life experiences into songs that appeal to a broad audience, seamlessly blending rap, country, R&B, and rock elements. Since embarking on his solo career, JLUKE has shared the stage with notable artists such as The Lacs, Mike Jones, Jelly Roll, Smileyface, and many others. The future holds great promise for National Recording Artist JLUKE.
